ALL PARISH MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS: We are looking for interested people to join the committees for the preservation/restoration of the Newtowne Manor House. RESEARCH/HISTORY-This committee will be responsible for researching and collecting the history of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Newtowne Manor House. The history may also include life in general at Newtowne Neck.
ARTIFACTS DATABASE-This subcommittee will track the known artifacts of both the Church and the Manor House, and make attempts to discover other artifacts. If you know of the whereabouts of artifacts from the Church or Manor House, please contact one of the members listed above.
ORAL HISTORY-This subcommittee will interview, record, transcribe and write a document to publish about St. Francis Xavier Church and Newtowne Manor House oral history.
FUNDRAISING/ PUBLICITY-This committee will be responsible for raising funds for the preservation and restoration of the Newtowne Manor House. The committee will seek to publicize the Newtowne Manor House project.
HOSPITALITY-This subcommittee will organize and host various events for the Manor House project.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH-This subcommittee will search ways to communicate with the community and state about the Newtowne Manor House project.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT-This committee will work with the pastor to insure transparency of all decisions and financial actions. The committee will oversee the financial management of the Newtowne Manor House project.
TECHNICAL COMMITTEE-This committee will be responsible for seeking experts in the field of historical preservation and restoration of buildings. The committee will be responsible for researching and developing plans for recommending phases to be completed. Contact Drew Dowdell.
CLEANUP AND MAINTENANCE-This subcommittee will help with periodic clean up and maintain the grounds and Manor House.
ADMINISTRATIVE/CLERICAL COMMITTEE-This subcommittee will prepare mailings and post cards, make telephone calls, send out emails and assist with general communication with the parish and community.
